Timothy ‘Tim’ Flanagan, Jr. is a third-generation leader in MassMutual. He is committed to leading his team in creating healthy financial planning practices while achieving their vision of success and balance in all aspects of their lives.

Tim’s career with MassMutual began in 1989 in Philadelphia. In January 2004, he took over as General Agent of The Pelora Group, a MassMutual Agency, one of the largest and longest-standing financial services firms in Charlotte. Under Tim’s leadership, the firm has experienced substantial growth and has expanded its service areas throughout the Carolinas.

As co-host of the “Winning Through Culture” podcast, Tim has parlayed his leadership skills, business experience and passion for helping entrepreneurs stay impactful and relevant.

Through Tim’s commitment to helping others, his firm established the Hands and Feet foundation to serve the community. The following are some of the organizations Hands and Feet supports: Charlotte Rescue Mission, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Isabella Santos Foundation, The Kosciuszko Foundation, Loaves & Fishes, Patriots Path, Rise 2 Thrive, and Rise Against Hunger.

He is also involved in MassMutual’s LifeBridge^SM free life insurance program. MassMutual Carolinas has provided $15 million in free life insurance to income-eligible families to help children pay for education expenses.

In addition, Tim is a member of MassMutual’s Field Advisory Council, the Charlotte Uptown Rotary and C12. He has also raised funds for The American College’s Center for Special Needs and Center for Economic Empowerment.

He has received several accolades for his leadership skills and dedication to the community. Tim was named as one of the “40 Under 40” leaders in Charlotte and among the “Most Admired CEOs” by the Charlotte Business Journal. In addition, his firm has been recognized numerous times among Charlotte’s “Best Places to Work” for mid-sized companies.

Tim considers his biggest blessing to be his family. He married his college sweetheart, Jeanine, and together they raised two wonderful children, Sean and Caitlin, both of whom live in Charlotte.

A graduate in Finance and Business from Cabrini University, Tim also completed the Executive Development program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and has received several designations from The American College of Financial Services.

As President and Chief Operations Officer at The Pelora Group, Audrey Averill is celebrating over 15 years of experiencing every role within the financial services industry.

Specifically concerning The Pelora Group, Audrey is especially proud of the firm’s partnership with financial advisors and professionals to build balanced practices based on their unique vision and direction.

In Audrey’s current role, she leads the firm's Sales, Recruiting, Operations, Compliance, and Finance Teams as well as the Strategic Leadership Team to implement firm direction while recruiting successful advisors to join the organization.

Audrey began her career at The Pelora Group (at the time Hinrichs Flanagan Financial), where she worked part-time in the new business department and part-time as an administrative assistant. Over the years, she has enjoyed many opportunities to learn and grow across the firm in different departments.

Audrey’s interest in the financial services industry stems from her family background, with both her grandfather and parents finding success in the industry. Audrey was born in Springfield, Mass and her parents first job was at MassMutual and so it’s no coincidence 20 years later she would find a career with MassMutual.  As President and COO, Audrey shares that the most rewarding part of her work is watching the people around her grow -- both advisors and employees.

Audrey’s proudest accomplishment is being a part of The Pelora Group. She has watched The Pelora Group grow from a small group of advisors and staff to tripling in size  She can truly say she’s grown up in this organization and through her journey has added to the longevity of the firm by adding new advisors and financial professionals, merging with other agencies, working through a financial crisis and navigating a pandemic.

Outside of work, Audrey enjoys training for and completing several Spartan races each year. She also enjoys traveling with her new husband, Jonathan Aguallo, as of November 2023. She and Jonathan now share the joy of parenting his three adult children.
