Who inspires you?
My father inspires me. He is a financial planner and I watch him improve the lives of his clients on a day to day basis. I can tell he is really making a difference in their lives, and I want to be able to help others the way he can.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
Most people don't know that I used to do hip-hop and breakdancing competitively. I danced on an all guys team and won 2nd place at World's Dance Competition in New Jersey in back to back years.
Why did you want to intern with MassMutual Carolinas?
I wanted to intern at MassMutual Carolinas because I recognize that it is not only an outstanding professional business, but is one filled with incredible people. Every person I have come across has been friendly and has been focused on benefiting others. This is the kind of organization I want to work behind because I believe in helping others.
What should everyone add to their bucket list in your hometown?
I love going to Top Golf, and like to compare it to bowling, but for golfing. It is a ton of fun! You hit golf balls at targets and try to score more than your friends. It is a super nice place, and I highly recommend you try it if you can.
What are your professional goals and where do you hope to be in 5 years?
I plan to graduate from UNC Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. With this degree, I hope to have a job dealing with integrating technology and business with MassMutual Carolinas or a company of its sort.

Who inspires you?
My parents have always inspired me to be the best person I can be. Growing up, they helped me learn what the true meaning of integrity is. They taught me how to work hard, and how to be kind. I can't thank them enough for all that they have done for me.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I can solve a Rubik’s cube in 90 seconds or less! I am also currently teaching myself guitar, but that is not going as well so far.
Why did you want to intern with MassMutual Carolinas?
This summer, I wanted to have an opportunity to immerse myself in an environment in which I could see how people operate on a professional level. With the amount of success MassMutual Carolinas is having, it made it an easy decision for me to apply. I'm thankful for the opportunity, and I believe I can add value to the company.
What should everyone add to their bucket list in your hometown?
Waxhaw is just a suburban town within the Charlotte MSA, so most times people travel to uptown Charlotte for activities. I would say definitely try to see a Carolina Panthers game, the best team in the NFL!
What are your professional goals and where do you hope to be in 5 years?
As stated above, I want to become the best person I can be in all aspects of life. In five years, I envision myself being in a position in which I can help a business achieve economic success through countless relationships formed with customers. I want to be a part of a corporate culture that rewards hard work and dedication.

Who inspires you?
In terms of the most inspiring person in my life, my mom is the first person who comes to mind. She has been through so much and yet still puts me and my sister first in her life regardless the situation. Her dedication to continue through life with her head held high is one of her most admirable qualities, and I strive to be as strong as her.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
My secret talent is that I am very good with technology, especially with computers. When I was in engineering, I learned a lot about the basic applications in a computer as well as the basics of coding, so I know a lot more than people think I do. I've made a variety of parts in CAD that nobody knows about just to learn more about the mechanics.
Why did you want to intern with MassMutual Carolinas?
My main reason to intern at MassMutual Carolinas was to find out a little more about myself and where I fit into the business world. This internship is a great way to find out what I want to do and how I can adjust my goals accordingly. This opportunity is also a great way to get hands on experience as I progress past college.
What should everyone add to their bucket list in your hometown?
Everyone should get the chance to go to Nashville, TN at least one time in their life. The place is truly amazing and the people there are some of the nicest people I've ever met. In the heart of Nashville, you will find some of the best music in the world. It is truly an amazing experience that I think everyone should get the chance to enjoy.
What are your professional goals and where do you hope to be in 5 years?
My top priority goal is to work in banking. I plan on working in Charlotte where I will be close to family and be able to commute to work without much trouble. If not in banking, I would like to work as a financial advisor, as I love to work with people in helping to insure that they have a prosperous life ahead of them.

Warren Buffett inspires me mainly because of his financial success but also because he is one of the top philanthropists in the world.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
A secret talent that I have is that I am pretty good at playing the guitar. I’ve always left my guitar at my parents’ home in Mooresville, so my friends and colleagues don’t know that I can play.
Why did you want to intern with MassMutual Carolinas?
I would like to intern with MassMutual Carolinas because I would love to learn from professionals and gain experience in this industry.
What should everyone add to their bucket list in your hometown?
One thing that people should put on their bucket list if they visited my hometown would be to go out on Lake Norman with jet skis or wakeboards.
What are your professional goals and where do you hope to be in 5 years?
Within the next five years I hope to be working with an established financial or brokerage firm.
